what is hospice care?Hospice is a patient and family support service that
Keep your loved one at home & comfortable with hospice care.Crater Community Hospice is the only community-based not for profit hospice located in the Chesterfield to Emporia service areas. Proudly serving the counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Sussex, Surry, and Charles City and the cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Emporia, Virginia. Since 1995 over 3000 Southside Virginia families facing terminal illness have received high quality compassionate care from Crater Community Hospice. Crater Community Hospice has been named recipient of the 2009 Excellence in Organizational Management Award by The Cameron Foundation. In 2007 we received the Cleveland A. Wright Community Service Award from the Cameron Foundation for outstanding community service. Crater Community Hospice is truly neighbors helping neighbors through difficulties during one of life's greatest challenges. We provide compassionate end-of-life care, guide and comfort the grieving, and educate our community. In most cases reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and other private insurances offer Hospice benefits but do not cover all costs incurred. Donations help us to provide care to everyone who is referred to us that is medically appropriate, regardless of their ability to pay. Learn more about Crater Community Hospice. Photo on right: Volunteers, Jean Karman and Judi Vaughn, worked together with the staff and volunteer team to bake cookies and make and deliver Valentine Baskets for CCH hospice families. The project totaled well over 100 hours and brimmed with TLC.
