Crater Community Hospice is the only community-based not for profit hospice located in the Chesterfield to Emporia service areas. Since 1995 over 3000 Southside Virginia families facing terminal illness have received high quality compassionate care from Crater Community Hospice.

Recently we received the Cleveland A. Wright Community Service Award from the Cameron Foundation for outstanding community service. Crater Community Hospice is truly neighbors helping neighbors through difficulties during one of life's greatest challenges. We provide compassionate end-of-life care, guide and comfort the grieving, and educate our community.

In most cases reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and other private insurances offer Hospice benefits but do not cover all costs incurred. Caregivers Library: Eldercare & Caregiving Resources.
